We have now uploaded some pictures from the BT2011. Please follow this link.

We cordially invite you to participate in the Botanikertagung 2011 held in Berlin from September 18 – 23, 2011. The Botanikertagung 2011 is an international botanical congress jointly organized by the Freie Universität Berlin and the Humboldt-Universität Berlin on behalf of the German Botanical Society (Deutsche Botanische Gesellschaft, DBG). The conference venue will be located in the Henry-Ford-Building at the Freie Universität Berlin. Special efforts have been made to attract students and junior scientists. We encourage you to make use of the reduced rates through early bird registration and, if not already, by becoming a member of the DBG.

DIVERSITY MAKES THE DIFFERENCE is the motto of this year’s German botanical conference. The scientific programme aims to bring together students and scientists from the whole spectrum of botanical disciplines and to cover the latest developments in plant science and related research areas. The conference will include plenary lectures and more than 30 symposia with invited keynote speakers and presentations chosen from the submitted abstracts. We offer appropriate space and adequate time for poster presentations and opportunities for scientific discussions. It is our deepest hope and expectation that we will enjoy an instructive and stimulating conference.

Berlin is one of the most vibrant and attractive metropolitan areas in Europe. You will find numerous hotels close to the conference venue or in the centre of town and ample opportunities for sightseeing before and after the conference. The social programme on Friday, September 23, will include several cultural excursions in and around Berlin.

We urgently recommend to make  hotel reservations as soon as possible. In addition to the Berlin Marathon taking place at September 25, pope Benedikt has announced to visit Berlin from September 22-25! It will be very difficult to book a room shortly before the congress.

We look forward to welcoming you in Berlin on the occasion of the Botanikertagung 2011!
